Starter Bundle vs. Buying Merch Separately: What's the Value?

Category: Comparisons
Compare the Athletic Brewing Starter Bundle to buying the same gear separately. See if the bundle saves money and when it's better to pick individual items.
Quick answer
The Athletic Brewing Starter Bundle offers better upfront value than buying the same items separately, but only if you want all the included pieces. If you already own the hat or prefer different beer styles, buying separately makes more sense.
What the Starter Bundle includes
The Starter Bundle pairs two 6-packs of Athletic's best-selling non-alcoholic brews with a branded hat and a few extras. It's designed as a one-box introduction to the brand, combining flavor variety with a wearable accessory. The catalog comparison price suggests a savings of roughly $23 over buying the items individually, though that figure depends on current pricing of each component.
When buying separately wins
If you already own an Athletic hat or prefer a different beer style not in the bundle, the separate route avoids paying for items you don't need. You can also mix and match sizes or choose limited-edition brews that may not be included in the bundle. The trade-off is you miss the convenience of a single purchase and the built-in discount.
Starter Bundle vs. separate: trade-offs
- Cost: The bundle's catalog comparison price suggests a ~$23 saving vs. buying the items individually. That's real value if you want everything included.
- Convenience: One order, one box, one decision. The bundle removes the guesswork of which beers to pick and whether to add a hat.
- Flexibility: Separate purchases let you choose specific beer styles, hat sizes, or skip items you already own. You lose the bundle discount but gain control. If you're not sure about the hat or the beer styles, start with a single 6-pack and add merch later.
